Welding
Technology
This is a beginning class in arc, oxyacetylene welding and cutting.
Skills are developed in flat, horizontal and vertical welds. This
is a cooperative learning hands on course.
Machine Technology
This is a beginning machine tool class covering lathes, drill
presses, milling machines, grinding, layout, bench work, forging
and heat treatment of metals. Activities include useful take home
projects.
Metal Fabrication
This is a beginning level course in sheet metal layout, development
and light metal fabrication techniques with wire feed welding,
hand and machine torch cutting. Foundry (aluminum casting) skills
will be included in this course.
Computer Aided
Manufacturing and Machining
This is an advanced machine tool course with emphasis on milling
and lathe operations. Special instruction in computer aided milling
and lathe software is emphasized. The foundry is used to demonstrate
mass production methods for machining projects.
Advanced Metal
Processes
This is an advanced two hour class that covers arc, oxyacetylene,
wire feed and heliarc welding, heavy and light metal fabrication
machine tool and computerized machining, hand and machine torch
cutting. Emphasis is on occupational preparation and work. College
Now credit is available through L.C.C.
