Architectural
Drafting - Emphasizes skills developed in Technical
Drafting to design and develop residential house plans.
Course
introduces site plans, design styles, construction techniques,
materials, and code requirements. The 2nd semester includes
commercial design and drawing.
Opportunities are provided for advanced students to construct
scale models. An emphasis in computer-assisted drafting
(CAD) is an option for some students.
Engineering
Tech. - A continuation of Architectural &
Engineering Drafting
requiring independent work on integrated drafting problems
utilizing the computer assisted drafting (CAD) system. Some
drawings are assigned as a service to the
school district or community. Introduction to robotics and
automation applications is available.
Adv. Tech. Drafting - A continuation of Technical
Drafting that provides a
broader range of drafting techniques and skills. Additional
areas covered are precision dimensioning, auxiliary/section
views, exploded views, blueprint reading, and architectural
fundamentals. Advanced training in computer-assisted
drafting (CAD) is provided in the areas of 3-view drawing,
3D wire frame, and rendering. |
Tech.
Drafitng - Introduction to the equipment and applying
basic standards used in technical drawing. A study of rthographic
projection, eometric construction and pictorial drawing
helps students preparing to work in graphics, construction,
engineering, and architecture. Term project includes a 30-hour
drawing of a chosen content by the student to match their
acquired skill. Computer aided drafting (CAD) is also introduced.
