----- Springfield High School's system of selective course work allows students to select a variety of subjects in history. Russian/East European history is one of those subjects that fulfills requirements in Global Studies.
----- Russia/East European is a study of modern Russian and Eastern European history. In these past few years Russia and Eastern Europe have had profound changes. The once mighty Soviet Bloc is gone. Left behind are nations and people struggling to recreate new systems of government, economy and society. Only the two World Wars left such profound change and challenges. This course seeks to study the history, trends and on-going events of this area.
