GRADING POLICY & CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS Physics Mr. Green

Expectations:
Physics is a laboratory class, so using safety precautions and following directions is extremely important. No food or drinks in the classroom please. Treat your instructor and fellow students with respect. Lab safety procedures will be followed closely.Inappropriate behavior will result in suspension from labs. Listening to I-pods and using cell phones are not allowed in the classroom, and they will be confiscated


Pass/No Pass: Paperwork must be completed by Sept 26th. No requests will be accepted after this.

Grading:
Grades will be assigned on the basis of the percentage of total points
87.5% & up = A
77.5%-87.4% = B
67.5%-77.4% = C
57.5%-67.4% = D


There will be no extra credit projects, but from time to time extra-credit assignments may become available. Late assignments will be marked down 20 % (2 grades) and must be turned in by the deadline shown on your bi-weekly grade report. Work missed because of absences can be made up. Upon your return you will have 1 school day for each day absent to make up work without it being counted late. Class assignments and grades will be posted at http://people.sps.lane.edu/bgreen.

Tardies: Every 3 tardies will result in a lunch detention. Absences: Will be treated as per the school policy


Lab reports must include the following sections:
Title Purpose Data Analysis Conclusion: a) summarize what you did. b) summarize what you found out. c) evaluate your accomplishment of the purpose or your lab prediction
